Welcome

Over the past year I've been contemplating bringing back "The Butters" Radio show. For those that don't know about it...here's a brief history lesson for you. "The Butters" was created by DJ Mick Boogie back in 96-97. I came along in 98 as the shows co-host when Mick invited me down to the show and saw that we had a great on air chemistry. He was the quiet, logical & sarcastic one and I was the loud, somewhat obnoxious & opinionated young one. This all happened after I stepped up to the plate as a writer for the Buttersheet Magazine, which was primarily a Cleveland Underground Hip Hop magazine that highlighted local talent throughout northeast Ohio. I want to say around 2001-2002, Mick gave the show to me and I pretty much kept it going all the way up until the beginning of 2009. The show originally aired from the basement of John Carroll University on WJCU 88.7FM. But since I wasn't a student of the college or alumni, after about a year or so the rules changed and I was no longer able to continue doing the show. About a year or so later of not being on the radio, I found out that WRUW 91.1FM allowed a small number of community members to do shows. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and after I completed the program....THE BUTTERS WAS BACK!

So here I am 13 years later and I figured that I might as well get things started in the right direction and get a blog going before I bring back the actual show.

I believe there is a ton of good music out here, some available to the masses...some outside the view from the general public. I literally get HUNDREDS of emails on a daily basis filled with MP3's & album of music. So...here it goes. This blog is going to be a "one stop" for music and a way for you readers to hear some new stuff and some old stuff. There will also be post on fashion, current events and maybe a bit of music news. Truthfully, there's going to be no set format other than what I want to post. I am a music fan, of course I have to say Hip Hop is my favorite...but I listen to everything. So there will also be posts on Indie Rock, Alternative, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Classical, Blues, you may even see a Metal post here and there. If you've ever listened to my show than you know my general rule is "If it's good, I'll play it". Applying that to this blog...If it's good, I'll POST it.
